Humans are adults, or animals is a creature that has developed in all its potential. Adults are social concepts and a legal one in our world. Contrary to the term "minor" (or "non-adult" an legal adult is a person who has achieved the age of majority. They are thought to be competent, responsible and independent. Also, they can be described as an "major". The age when a child becomes an adult legally is 18; however, the definition of legal maturity may differ based on the legal or country system in place, and also the state of their mental health.

Human development is the time during which physical and mental maturity has been reached. The age of adulthood typically begins with 21, which is the average age for adults. The middle age stage, which begins around 40 years old and is followed by the onset of old age at about 60 years old. The three main stages of adulthood include early adulthood (from the mid 30s until late 60s), middle adulthood from mid-30s to late-60s and later adulthood (mid-60s until the time of death). Early adulthood is the stage of physical maturity we are at when we turn 20 to 40 years older. We are a little taller and heavier, however, may slightly increase. In young adulthood the physical capabilities of our bodies are at their peak, including muscular strength, reaction time, sensory abilities, and cardiac functioning.
